We present Avita

Avita is the first Brazilian Insurtech to develop an online platform for the automatic issuance, control and management of surety bonds, and in a short time it has become the leading surety insurer in the country.

Founded in 2019 by partners Adriano Almeida, Rodolfo Fonzar and Daniela Durán, after 15 years working in and contributing to the Surety Bond segment, had set out to assist their future clients, the insurance market and relevant stakeholders in addressing issues and challenges within Brazil’s judicial guarantees ecosystem.

In 2024, Itaú Unibanco – Brazil’s largest private bank – announced an agreement to acquire Avita in order to expand its presence in the surety bonds market. As a result, Itaú Unibanco joined the company as a partner.

In 2023, Avita launched the Avita Provider Portal. With all the proven technology of the Avita Portal, we have developed a new digital environment designed to enable insureds to exercise full control and management over their provider network.

The problem we want to solve

Insureds in the surety bond and rental guarantee ecosystem spend excessive time and money managing workflows with their providers, absorbing operational costs and facing uncertainty regarding claim recoveries.

Thousands of service, construction, and supply agreements rely on performance bonds. However, due to the lack of standardized clauses, many of these bonds lose their legal standing, leading to non-payment by insurers.
